Modernization of Czech-BioImaging research infrastructure

Project goals

The aim of the project is effective, coordinated and transparent quality assurance and further development of services provided by the Czech-Bioimaging infrastructure. The main aspects of the project are: - Sustainability and expansion of the portfolio of imaging methods and services offered - Ensuring the availability of imaging methods, both in terms of regional availability and the quantity of services provided - Maintaining the instrumentation at the current level of technological progress In total, more than 60 units of infrastructure capital equipment are expected to be renewed and upgraded during project implementation. The set of equipment in the project is thus designed after a comprehensive consideration of the impact of each investment on the operation of the infrastructure, a critical assessment from an economic point of view and taking into account the interest and needs of the research community. The upgrades will be mostly older instruments, enabling techniques that are in high demand among users. There will also be replacement of borrowed equipment and the acquisition of completely new technologies not yet available in the CzBI.
