Imaging Principles of Life 2025

The Czech BioImaging conference Imaging Principles of Life 2025 gathered researchers to exchange ideas on imaging in biomedical research, and we were glad to actively contribute.

Our consortium Czech BioImaging recently held its annual conference Imaging Principles of Life 2025. This year we gathered on 17–19 September 2025 at Hotel Atlantis in Rozdrojovice, Brno.

A big thank you to all speakers for their inspiring presentations on imaging techniques and their applications in biomedical research – it was a real pleasure to listen and learn.

We were also very happy that users of our ISI MR facility shared their work:

  • Jana Rudá-Kučerová (Masaryk University) spoke about using our ASL perfusion imaging in pharmacology studies on rat models of psychological disorders.

  • Michal Standara (Masaryk Memorial Cancer Institute) discussed the real-life challenges radiologists face when diagnosing prostate tumors and how our PerfLab software may help.

  • Iveta Haraštová (ISI MR facility) presented a poster on how MR spectroscopy can be applied in the diagnosis of depression.

  • Eva Dražanová (ISI MR facility) presented a poster on our recent extension towards small-animal EEG.

  • …and I (Radovan Jiřík) enjoyed co-chairing one of the sessions and co-authoring a short review of the latest news from our facilities.

It was a great chance to meet wonderful people doing excellent science. We truly hope everyone enjoyed it as much as we did.

Finally, a warm thank you to all the organizers – and especially to our colleagues from the Czech BioImaging Hub – for making the whole event run so smoothly!
