The course Magnetic Resonance Imaging for Beginners introduces the fundamental principles of signal acquisition and image formation in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) systems. Participants will learn about the basic acquisition sequences that determine image contrast, as well as selected MRI-based methods for assessing tissue function. The course will explain both the principles of data acquisition and the processing of measured data into parameters that describe tissue physiology.
As part of the course, participants will perform practical measurements using the strongest magnetic field imaging system in the Czech Republic — the preclinical Bruker 9.4T MR scanner. Through these exercises, participants will gain a solid understanding of the theoretical background of selected imaging methods and acquire hands-on experience in their practical implementation. The collected data will then be processed, in accordance with the theoretical framework, to produce parametric maps representing tissue physiology.
